For many years the small vinery Abbona has been trying to add its own ideas as well as their heart into the production of wines from Piedmont, as the owner Marziano Abbona says. The processes of vinery, typical Piedmont climate and great soil rich in limestone participate equally on the quality of the wine. The result is good quality wine of elegant taste and fantastic aroma. Vinery Abbona was not known a few years ago but after two recent awards from Gambero Rosso (tre bicchieri), it began to be significantly discussed and they ranked among the famous Italian vineries.

After the First World War and the fall of Austro-Hungarian Empire the Kelleri Kaltern vinery was experiencing an era of depression. Only in 1980 there was a radical change in the attitude. As one of the first ones, the Kellerei Kalterns realized that the customers’ taste had changed and focused on the quality. This resulted in reduction in size of the vineyards and volume of the wine produced so that enologists could control better the process of production.
